Music…The Experience

IMG_4111
This picture is one of my favorites from my trips to New York. Why? Because it represents a shared experience with my man Jeremy Castro and what we both have a passion for….great music. If you don’t know, this is the famous jazz trumpet player Chris Botti and his band at the Blue Note Jazz Club in the famous NYC village. Beyond the amazing talent that was represented, the experience is what brought it all home.

I’ve always been a fan of the jazz dinner theater vibe. When you throw in a legendary brand like Blue Note, along with some legit musicians, you have the makings for an amazing night. It was spontaneous. It wasn’t planned. It was perfect timing…and ultimately led to the experience that music was originally built around. It’s about community and story. That night, Castro and I had both!

Breathe In & Smile Out,

Chris

If you’re a fan of the new worship sounds that come from the community of artists like John Mark McMillan, Daniel Bashta, Gungor, and All Sons & Daughters…then you will like this new EP from John Tibbs.  In fact, you’ll really like the accessibility of this new EP as John has it up on Noise Trade for free download (please leave a tip and show some support!), and on other streaming sites like RDIO (personal fav) & Spotify.  Or, if you’re real lazy just look to the right and play from the widget on this page.

What I really love about John’s approach to music ministry is his heart for Jesus.  He is an active worship leader in Indianapolis where he has a heart anchored in the local church.  I love that John doesn’t aspire to be the next big thing.  He wants to create a movement of anointed sounds that transform lives.  My prayer is that you’ll give it a listen and be moved to share it, promote it, and let it be a blessing to someone.

Breathe In & Smile Out,

Chris
