Breathe In & Smile Out,

Today was a historic day in my music career.  What you see above is the culmination of digital music innovation that Mr. Steve Jobs introduced in iTunes so music consumers would get back to the album experience.  The iTunes LP incorporates music, video, motion graphics, print, and social connections.  For this new release from John Mark McMillan we tied all this together to create an amazing music experience.

It’s days like today that I sit back and thank God for the creative people I get to work with everyday.  Obviously John Mark was the center point of the creativity, beginning with great music.  Without that, this would have fallen flat.  What really made this an awesome extension of the album was what Eric Hurtgen brought to the creation!

Eric designed the packaging, and took up the challenge to help dream up the LP experience with me.  He designed all of the graphics and elements that you will see in these screenshots.  Eric is a true creative genius, and it is truly an honor to serve with him.

the lyrics with the music, along with new motion graphics for each song.

Here is a look at the Notes & Tapes section with John Mark’s
personal song journal including a couple bonus handwritten chord charts.
It also features the demo tapes for nine of the songs,
great peek into how they were conceived and evolved.

acoustic versions of the songs John Mark performed across the U.S

Eric created Alternate Economy Covers, Digital Wallpapers, and unique custom covers for every song that  can all be socially shared on Facebook, Twitter and download to.

This was not an easy venture into iTunes latest new music digital technologies.  I will say it was made easy working with guys like Eric and our outside developer.  There were hosts of teams in-house who worked on production and marketing for this new album.  When I think through everyone who had a hand on this project I thank God again for allowing me to be part of that team.

Today was good.  For today was a time to watch all the effort form wings and take off.  Take a look at the LP, you won’t be disappointed

Breathe In & Smile Out,

Chris
