Story

I’m excited about this epic 10-hour miniseries from executive producers Roma Downey (Touched By An Angel) and Mark Burnett (The Voice, Survivor, Shark Tank, Celebrity Apprentice).  I most excited to see these stories come to life on screen with effects and context. Just like The Passion did, I’m sure Roma and Mark will draw illustrations through this mini-series that will connect me even further with these stories I’ve read so many times.

I love that we were created by a Father who loves story. He longs to write us into His eternal story. They often involve struggle, tragedy, perseverance, justice, deliverance, and redemption just like the stories that will be covered in this mini-series.

Life Is Like An Airport

20130102-160209.jpg

I had a little layover today in one of the busiest airports in the world, Atlanta. The simple concourse diagram above doesn’t really paint a proper picture of all the people they move through there on a daily basis. If you’re a people watcher, it’s a paradise!

Today I was people watching when I started thinking about how much life is like an airport. The more I thought about it, the more I knew it could easily become a top 10 list. So here goes:

1) We all are on a journey.
2) We are either coming or going, rarely standing still.
3) We all need a connection.
4) We all have some baggage.
5) Some of us need to check our baggage and let someone else take care of it.
6) Just because we are going to a place called “terminal” doesn’t mean we’re dead.
7) Our destinations are never really final.
8) Sometimes you have to go down, up, across, through and back down to get anywhere.
9) We only need, really need, what we can carry.
10) We are all looking for that chance to be “upgraded!”

There you have it. Some random deep thoughts about life and airports from the weird and weary traveler. What’s your favorite one?

Breathe In & Smile Out,
Chris
