Freedom

I had planned on my next blog
covering the massive album set-up of Lady GaGa’s “Born This Way.” As I sat on the pier of the Mobile Bay watching this beautiful sunrise on Memorial Day, I just couldn’t think about anything else but the freedom we enjoy here. The freedom that so many soldiers gave everything for us to have.

I started thinking about what freedoms I cherish the most. I have to say it is freedom of speech. Which is funny to think in the case of Lady GaGa, she enjoys that freedom to some extremes :-).

For me, it’s the freedom to simply sit on a pier and blog about freedom. It’s the right for me to have a platform to speak from. It’s the right for me to have an audience to listen. Ultimately, it’s the freedom to choose who I want to listen to.

Today I don’t take that for granted. I remember the founding fathers of our beautiful country who knew this right to free speech was critical in our democracy. I remember the soldiers who took an oath to fight for our freedoms outlined in the constitution. I thank the soldiers from the past, the present, and the future who have, are, and will be committed to defend our freedoms.

Clicks, Slips, and Corporate Mind Trips

This is hilarious, sad, and true all wrapped up in a funny carton analogy of the clicks, mind trips, and junk that comes in the corporate world. Unfortunately, I work/worked with all of these characters. How many can you identify in your work culture?
